Abstract

The theses consider the importance of international standardization of environmental education in the context of training future teachers, with special attention paid to the challenges and prospects arising in the context of European integration. International documents, such as the strategies of UNESCO and UNECE, which define the basic principles of environmental education for sustainable development, are analyzed. The role of international standards in the formation of pedagogical programs focused on sustainable development was determined, and the need for adaptation of these standards in the Ukrainian education system was outlined. The text focuses on the importance of integrating environmental aspects in teacher training, as well as on promising areas for the development of environmental education in the context of European integration.
