The paper examines the extent of plastic pollution of aquatic ecosystems, its impact on aquatic organisms and water quality, as well as the sources of plastic entering water bodies. Practical measures are proposed to reduce this impact, including filtration systems, educational campaigns, and the development of recycling technologies
