Abstract
The paper presents the results of a study of the toxicity of soils damaged by missile attacks, using biotesting as a tool for integrated assessment of the ecological state of soils. The “growth
test” method using Lepidium sativum L. and the Allium test were used to detect phyto- and genotoxic effects. Growth inhibition of test objects and an increased frequency of chromosomal aberrations of some
soil samples were detected, which indicates the presence of a persistent toxic load on the soil environment. The results of the study confirm the feasibility of using biotesting as an effective approach to monitoring the condition of territories damaged by military actions
