Abstract
The article examines the historical aspects of the spread of invasive plant species in
Ukraine in the context of wars, trade, transport and human activity. Special attention is paid to the role of
invasive species in the transformation of natural and agroecosystems. The species composition,
geographical origin and ecological specificity of the most widespread alien plants in the country are
analyzed.
