Тhe article considers the importance of integrating waste management issues into the system of environmental education among children and schoolchildren. Modern approaches to the formation of environmental awareness in the educational process are analyzed, methods of involving young people in practical activities on waste sorting and recycling are outlined. The concept of an educational model focused on the development of a responsible attitude to the environment through practical skills in household waste management is proposed
