An analysis of research and publications by well-known scientists on avifauna was conducted, and the main factors of environmental impact on avifauna were considered. It was proven that the growth of bird populations in fields, gardens, parks, squares and forests has a positive effect on their productivity and resistance to the influence of negative external factors. Modern urban ornithology uses various methods and approaches to obtain reliable information about the bird population of cities in different regions of Ukraine and parts of the world and structural transformations in the biology, ecology and ethology of individual species. It was studied that it is the European and Siberian types of fauna that are part of the bird population of residential areas of Vinnytsia, and forest and forest-steppe species dominate in terms of species richness and abundance in the avifauna of the city. According to the analysis of the obtained indicators, it was proven that in cities the species composition of avifauna is quite limited in contrast to the high density of bird population.uk_UA
