The problem of environmental pollution by heavy metals is one of the most important problems of our time and the near future. Compounds of these elements are characterized by high toxicity, mobility and ability to bioaccumulate, which is dangerous not only for humans, but also for all living things on Earth. Groundwater circulation is the main mechanism for transferring chemicals into the environment, and therefore, the main way of influencing the human body. At the same time, the features of the chemical composition of groundwater (excess or deficiency of trace elements) are a determining factor in the occurrence of a certain type of disease (with food, a person receives only part of the essential trace elements, the rest comes with drinking water). The human body is 80% composed of water, so the chemical composition of the water consumed is decisive for its health: deterioration of water quality causes the occurrence of diseases, the development of diseases, and a reduction in life expectancy. As a result of the conducted research, the authors obtained data on the content of heavy metals, the patterns of their distribution and the forms of their presence in water resources of rural areas under anthropogenic load. In this regard, the level of environmentally dependent diseases of the population in our country increases every year, which requires mandatory and constant environmental and medical monitoring. Our results of ecological and geochemical research made it possible to assess the level of pollution of heavy metals, to identify territories with their anomalous values, as well as to identify their impact on the environment and humans and to propose measures to reduce the content of pollutants, protect and rehabilitate components of the natural environment. Thus, heavy metals that can be found in your drinking water are very harmful to your health. Their long-term effect on the human body can lead to the development of cancer, damage to organs, the nervous system, and in extreme cases, to death. Therefore, biogeohydrochemical processes in the human body, associated with the consumption of water of a certain qualitative composition, determine the state of its health and currently and in the future require comprehensive study.uk_UA
