Abstract

The article reveals the potential of geographical local history as a component of informal environmental education in the context of sustainable development. Particular attention is paid to the possibilities of intersectoral interaction between educational institutions, scientific institutions, local government bodies and public organizations using the example of Chernihiv region. The main forms of implementing local history activities in extracurricular space, its role in forming environmental awareness and active civic position of youth are highlighted.
